Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Although we didn’t do anything too “green” today – we were sure surrounded by it.

Sara just loved the wheelbarrow, the rake and the lawnmower.  We even thought of a new name for lawnmower ears because of today – “lawnmower cheeks” or “cheek ears”.  She also saw Daddy checking the fuel earlier, so she had to check things out too (don’t worry – she couldn’t get into it!).

And Alex – oh boy oh boy!

Somehow I go inside for a bit while Sara is napping and I come outside to this – an (almost 6 year old) boy driving a riding lawnmower all by himself (and doing it really well!).  Daddy was aerating, so Alex was helping him out.  They were both loving it and were having so much fun.

We had a happy boy out there – but, unfortunately – a day outside with sunshine and tree pollen (it seems) – makes an unhappy boy not too much later.  His eyes bother him quite a lot after a day like today.  I’ve been giving him Claritin during the day, and Benadryl at night.  But, today, I gave him 2 Claritin, in hopes it would help a bit.  Never fear – allergy appointment is scheduled for a week from Monday.  We’ll see what all this is about and find ways to make him more confortable.  But, this is what his eyes look like when it’s pretty bad.  He is a pretty happy boy that he got to have a Pikachu cake (2 days early!).  He thought it was about the coolest cake ever – and I did my best.  Cake decorating isn’t easy!
