We went to a parade on Saturday morning. Wow – what fun that was! Lance has been working hard all last week, all weekend, and all this week. I had the kids all day both days this weekend and there just happen to be a parade, so I decided to brave it alone with 2 active kiddos and take them to see it!
We were all glad we went and I hope we can do that again soon! We had a great time and next time there is a parade nearby, we are there!
We found a great spot where there was shade for us light skinned folk, stairs to play on, a great view of the parade and we were set. Alex making funny faces for Sara and Sara making funny faces back!
Lollipops were one of the best!
Before the parade started, Sara was watching very closely.
But, after it started with the loud fire truck – she was always a safe distance back.
And when it got loud with drums and other things, she would be back against the wall.
Alex loved it! Especially when many of the parade participants were throwing candy. “It was like Halloween, Mom!”
And sometimes when it got a little too loud, a little too much for this pre-nap girl, she just snuggled with Mama.
Although, she did start to love when she learned that licorice was involved…
And then as the parade went on, she got a little more brave.
But, Alex was learning to spot the people throwing candy and be able to run out and get some! As you can see, there was some competition, but not much.
And then one of the floats/participants gave him a purple balloon sword! So cool!
And other balloons were being given away and Sara chose green (her favorite color) and Alex chose red (his favorite). She was looking up towards the balloon but it was a pretty sunny day. She was trying to shade her eyes from the bright lights, in the picture below. So cute!
I was asking Alex to take a picture, and finally he stopped by a tree and said that he would hug the tree and I could take a picture, OK? OK!
